Patrice Murrell blazed onto the music scene with chart-topping hits which have solidified her as one of the hottest recording artists and entertainers to emerge from The Bahamas. She has years of world-class performances under her belt, which have afforded her the opportunity to perform on stages across the globe with some of the industry’s top entertainers. After a successful 2018 with her massive hit “Feelin’ Good” catapulting her career, the talented singer-songwriter took the following year by storm, releasing three amazing tracks – "Rest of My Life", “Cuz A Da Wine” and “T.O.M.” – which kept listeners grooving throughout 2019 and beyond.
Over the past few years, Patrice has been recognized for her success as a performer and singer/songwriter, receiving multiple nominations and awards. For 2020, she has been nominated for three awards: The Cacique “People’s Choice” Award, “Female Artist of the Year” and “Soca Song of the Year” for The Elevation Awards. She has procured a Bahamas Top Music Award for her song 'Come 2 Wave' and an Elevation Contemporary Song of the Year Award for 'Feelin' Good'. As a first-time entry, Patrice was also chosen as a top finalist for the Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival’s Music Masters Competition.
Patrice enjoys creating a unique sound by fusing indigenous sounds of The Bahamas (Junkanoo and rake n' scrape) with other genres. Earlier this year Patrice kicked off 2020 with a banger called “Heavyweight”, her first collaboration featuring prominent soca recording artist Marvin “Swappi” Davis, the reigning 2019 Groovy Soca Monarch from Trinidad and Tobago. After receiving rave reviews and radio spins regionally and internationally, the song took her to 2020 Trinidad Carnival, where she performed during the Road March and on several concert stages.
Refusing to slow down, Patrice continues to reinvent herself, releasing trailblazing music and lighting up every stage she graces. A captivating performer, Patrice is known for her powerful vocals and engaging presence, characteristics which are undeniable in her latest single release for the year, “Be Ok”. This powerful, mainstream song took Patrice in a different direction, showcasing her versatility as a vocalist and songwriter. In a time when it is needed the most, Patrice describes the song “as an anthem of strength and empowerment intended to inspire and encourage people from all walks of life”. Already a hit single, “Be Ok” has allowed Patrice to connect with her audience in a whole new way. Listeners are loving her evolution and can’t seem to get enough.
